Cabin Fever Adventure

I am joining project 52 even it's already Week 8. I just want to challenge and stretch myself when it comes to photography. The theme for week 8 is Cabin fever. And there is no better picture to post than the one i took while i was on vacation at Fundacion Pacita.

"Cabin Fever is an idiomatic expression wherein a person or group is in a place with nothing to do, for an extended period (as in a simple country vacation cottage during a long rain or snow)." - Wikipedia

I can call January in Batanes winter because it's cold and windy at 22degrees compared to Manila's weather at 32degrees.

Coconut Crab

The coconut crab is a very popular delicacy in Batanes. I requested Fundacion Pacita to get one for my dinner for i want to try it. ;-)

The species is popularly associated with the coconut, and has been widely reported to climb trees to pick coconuts, which it then opens to eat the flesh. While coconut crabs can climb trees, and can eventually open a coconut collectively, coconuts are not a significant part of their diet.

RadLab · v1.2.2-1

my friend Wendy Capili-Wilke introduced me to RadLaB. It creates this completely easy-to-use interface that lets you see what each action will do to your photo before you apply it. I purchased it last week to avail of the SALE till feb 29 hehehe. After 2 days of trying, I really love it! it produces Totally AWESOME! pictures

The photos here were taken at Fundacion Pacita, Batanes Philippines and post-processed with RaDLab The place is one of my bucket lists. my loving hubby gave this trip to me to celebrate our 17th Wedding anniversary.

"Fundacion Pacita is one of the best boutique hotels in the Philippines. A Batanes experience is not complete without enjoying the "Wuthering Heights" ambiance of Fundacion Pacita -- it is located on top of a cliff with a 270-degree view of the sea, mountains and the sky. Also, at this time of the year, this is one of the only places where you can feel it's "winter" in a tropical paradise like the Philippines." - Awesome Planet

Life doesn't need to be perfect

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days
All the things you collected whether treasured or forgotten
Will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed
Your grudges, resentments, frustration and jealousies
Will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire
The wins, the losses that once seemed so important will fade away
It won’t matter where you came from.

It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built
Not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage
or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others
to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew
but how many will feel a lasting loss when your gone.
What will matter is not in your memories
but the memories that lives on in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident
It happens by choice.

LIFE DOESN'T NEED TO BE PERFECT, AND YOU NEED NOT BE RICH AND FAMOUS; AS LONG AS YOU HAVE CHRIST IN YOUR HEART... IT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH.

You're a Good Man Charlie Brown

HAPPINESS is watching you're a good man CHARLIE BROWN. I fell in love with "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown!."   The songs are awsome! The cast is awsome!

when 9 works Theatrical did the stage version here in the Philippines. I didn't know that they sang the song "HAPPINESS" in this play. All of the songs touch your heart and the characters and ones that everyone has grown up with. I love SNOOPY when i was a teenager.

We watched the play because my children REESE and JOAQUI loves the gang "PEANUTS" and they were laughing the whole time. Joaqui was even telling me what will happen even before the scene start.  I didn't know he watched the cartoons in youTube.  They were laughing had so much time during the show.

my son Lj will have a pizza party on Friday, March 2. and i am adding a treat. i am making ahead of time sugar cookies.

I usually bake SUGAR COOKIES if there are parties. Sometimes my children give these as gifts to their classmates or teachers ;-)

taking the time to decorate sugar cookies with extra care can produce some really beautiful results, perfect for special gifts. Whatever the end goal, starting with a reliable recipe, and handling the dough with a bit of care will ensure delicious results every time.

in july 2007, 3 months into my pregnancy, I enrolled in Essential Baking and Pastry Arts Series at Chef Heny Sison's Culinary School where Chef Vicki Villanueva taught us how to make pandesal, spanish bread, ensaymada etc....

Pandesal is probably the most popular bread in the Philippines. This bread is the favorite “agahan” (breakfast food) of most Pinoys (slang for Filipino) and can be eaten plain or with “palaman” (filling). In the Philippines, all bake shops and bakeries sell Pandesal.

Sometimes, this is sold in rolling stores(usually a honking bicycle with a big box on the back). When purchasing from a neighborhood bakery, be sure to be there before 8 am.

we cook this Fresh panDeSal in my kitchen.
