A VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL

Because - Nyoy Volante

i choose to live in JOY

God wants you to know ... that you can't rid the world of sorrow, but you can choose to live in joy.
Sorrow is with us not because we are bad at stopping it, but simply because it's part of being human. What matters is not whether good or bad things happen - both will, but your relationship to them. Just think back over the last 24 hours, - what had you taken hard that you could have taken lightly?

i guess i was having moments yesterday...maybe because i was getting hungry because of my diet ;-)

my klasmeyts @ St. Paul Manila Batch 1989

Hope

hope

Do you show favor and generosity to those who will repay you in kind? What about those who do not have the means to repay you — the poor, the sick, and the disadvantaged? Generosity demands a measure of self-sacrifice. It doesn't impoverish, but rather enriches the soul of the giver.

True generosity springs from a heart full of mercy and compassion. God loved us first, and our love is a response of gratitude to his great mercy and kindness towards us. We cannot outgive God in his generosity towards us.

Do you give freely as Jesus gives without expectation for personal gain or reward?

WHEN YOU BLESS THOSE THAT CAN'T RETURN THE FAVOR, GOD WILL BLESS YOU.

Prayer:

"Lord, fill me with gratitude for your unboundless love and mercy towards me. And purify my love for others that I may seek their good rather than my own benefit or gain. Free me to love others as you love." - Fr. Hugh

meeting CHIQUI ESCAREAL-GO

attending the St. Paul University Centennial Celebration was so much fun.  I got to meet one of my idols in marketing Ms. Chiqui Escareal-Go.  She is the President and Chief Service Strategist of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc., an advocacy-based marketing and sales training and consultancy company.

Maalala Mo Kaya.

as usual i was STARSTRUCKED again.  This time with Mrs. Charo Santos-Concio, President of ABS-CBN and Cum Laude - St. Paul ABCommunication Arts graduate.  Happy to meet her during the Centennial celebration of St. Paul university this afternoon.

meeting DIOSDADO ‘DADO’ BANATAO: ‘The Filipino Bill Gates’

I met today DADO BANATAO at the St. Paul University Centennial Celebration held at the SMX Mall of Asia.  He is married to a fellow Paulinian.

They currently live in Atherton, California in a $20 million house, and estimated to have a $5 billion fortune. According to those who knew him, he built his wealth from a computer chip he invented which is now used by every computer in the world market.

He had been to the Philippines several times, trying to interest tycoons like Jaime Zobel de Ayala to join hands with him. He is in fact, a trustee of Ayala International Bank.

He holds a B.S.E.E., cum laude, from the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University.

"Banatao is most known for introducing the first single-chip graphical user interface accelerator that made computers work a lot faster and for helping develop the Ethernet controller chip that made Internet possible. In 1989, he pioneered the local bus concept for personal computers and in the following year developed the First Windows accelerator chip. Intel is now using the chips and technologies developed by Banatao. He now runs his own semiconductor company, Mostron and Chips & Technology, which is based in California’s Silicon Valley." - Phil. lessons i learned from "Moneyball"

As i watched this movie, I can relate completely to Brad Pitt. There were business lessons to be learned.

When our company was starting 12 years ago, BEING FIRST MATTERS to me.    when we started the company, my VISION is to be the COLGATE or KODAK when it comes to pest control. we took chances, came up with innovations and different strategies to gain market share and to be in the top 3 pest control companies in the Philippines even we have limited budget and resources.

we look for employees who can contribute and add value to the company but who have been overlooked by others because they were not graduates from top philippine schools. We are open to a diverse group of employees.

we hired STARS from the industry, but it doesn't mean they will become part of our great team. Sometimes these people have bad attitudes or big egos.

I am a risk-taker. I make decisions Fast and i am OPEN to changes, though for others it's hard. But i thank GOD that my management team are cooperative ;-)  As of today, We try our best to stay focused and race as far ahead as possible.  As the company grows, the team grows with us.

Leadership isn’t easy. It means taking great risks and making personal sacrifices. Leadership isn’t about the self, but about the team. we make the most of what we have. and lastly Money isn't everything. Relationship with people is more important to me.

basking in the pristine beauty of FUNDACION PACITA

Doy's gift for our 17th wedding anniversary was a trip to Batanes and he booked us at Fundacion Pacita.

"Fundacion Pacita is one of the best boutique hotels in the Philippines. A Batanes experience is not complete without enjoying the "Wuthering Heights" ambiance of Fundacion Pacita -- it is located on top of a cliff with a 270-degree view of the sea, mountains and the sky. Also, at this time of the year, this is one of the only places where you can feel it's "winter" in a tropical paradise like the Philippines." - Awesome Planet

I enjoyed the cold and windy weather.  while we were here the temperature was 21degrees C
