T is for Thankful

The first thanksgiving celebration i attended in the USA was in 2010.  I was in San Jose California during that time and it's like a fiesta -- so many foods.  What i enjoyed the most was taking pictures of the people getting lined up at Best Buy and Walmart Ranch Drive McCarthy Blvd Milpitas California around midnight. Then during the sale, my friends accompanied me to Scrapbook Island and bought mostly basic grey items at 50% off.

The enjoyable part was shopping going to a little bit of Valley Fair , Santana Row, The Great Mall, Marshalls and TJ Maxx.  Junie, the husband of my friend Yvette, was in the counter lining up for us while we get stuffs -- it was so easy breezy.

Here in the Philippines we celebrate Thanksgiving by having  dinner with family.   There is no Black Friday Sale.  The sale for me was buying at online stores like Amazon, Joann, Bath and Body Works and other stores that interests me.

YOU are my ONLY ONE

During his historic tour of 2001, James Taylor treated his audiences to magical concerts of greatest hits, personal favorites and new songs from his upcoming October Road album. What Rolling Stone called ". . . a good natured evening of dependable, reassuring musicianship . . ."

Only One
You are my only one, you are my only one

Well, I'm telling you now, now you're my only one
(second time: Don't be leaving me now, now you're my only one)

I've got two long legs like to carry me
Two sharp eyes to look for the light
I've got two strong arms to hold on tight
And two good friends on my left and right
But only one only one, and (second chorus)

Now there's only one road before me
Too many turns in the way
Thousands of things to do today
Millions of moments, I must admit
But only one only one, and (first chorus)

(Bridge) Taken for granted and pushed aside
All that it wanted was a place to run and hide
Missing message in a hollow tree
Hidden deep inside a memory

And the memory seems like dreams
Hundreds of hopes in the past
Nevertheless it was never the last
Hold on strong or you fade out fast
And only one only one

Oh, you are my only one, you are my only one
Don't be leaving me now
Believe in me now
Well, I'm telling you now, now you're my only one

Yeah, you are my only one, you are my only one
Don't be leaving me now, now you're my only one
Yeah, you are my only one, you are my only one
Well, I'm telling you now, now you're my only one

Yeah, you are my only one, you are my only one
Don't be leaving me now
Oh, you are my only one, you are my only one
Well, I'm telling you now, now you're my only one

Oh, you are my only one, you are my only one
Don't be leaving me now
Oh, you are my only one, you are my only one.

Secret of Life by James Taylor

Performed by Taylor in HD with stunning sound quality.

In the early '70s, when he appeared with his introspective songs, acoustic guitar, and calm, understated singing style, James Taylor mirrored a generation's emotional exhaustion after tumultuous times.

Just as Bing Crosby's reassuring voice brought the country out of the Depression and through World War II, Taylor's eased the transition from '60s activism and its attendant frustrations into the less political, more inward-looking '70s.

The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
Any fool can do it
There ain't nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to
The top of the hill
But since we're on our way down
We might as well enjoy the ride.

The secret of love is in opening up your heart
It's okay to feel afraid
But don't let that stand in your way
'cause anyone knows that love is the only road
And since we're only here for a while
Might as well show some style
Give us a smile.

Isn't it a lovely ride
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride.

Now the thing about time is that time
Isn't really real
It's just your point of view
How does it feel for you
Einstein said he could never understand it all
Planets spinning through space
The smile upon your face
Welcome to the human race.

Some kind of lovely ride
I'll be sliding down
I'll be gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride.

Isn't it a lovely ride
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride.

James Taylor - Wichita Lineman - Grammy Nominated

I am a lineman for the county
and I drive the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin' in the wire
I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line

I know I need a small vacation
but it don't look like rain
And if it snows that stretch down south

won't ever stand the strain
And I need you more than want you
and I want you for all time
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line

And I need you more than want you
and I want you for all time
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line
