my investment for this trip:  i just can't resist the Nikon J1 Camera. it's the first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera from nikon.  we decided to get it because it's hard to travel using my canon 7d with all the lenses.  it's so heavy on my shoulder.  We also bought a handcarry luggage to match the luggage we bought last year from Rimowa.

Week in the Life 2012 - Tuesday

i call my photos today "My Executive Staff".  They are the reason why i can travel, do many things at the same time in a day.  They make my life easier. They are the people who works in my house.  They are loyal, dedicated and works tirelessly. I am BLESSED to have them around.  Not included in the photo is Yaya Ria. (she went home to province for she gave birth to her 2nd baby)

I have two personal Assistants - Kim and Grace. Many of the everyday tasks necessary for an effective workday fall on them, from scheduling meetings to arranging transportation of our office employees.  From corporate giveaways to organizing parties.   They screen all my incoming calls and messages.

Running personal errands or setting appointments is part of their job.  They take care of life's details that i assign to them everyday and other jobs that may be assigned from time to time ALL THE TIME ;-)

I am gonna miss Madel, Beth and Weng for 10 days.  They went home to their province in Bacolod for a vacation.  I gave them an all expense-paid roundtrip air ticket as a way of thanking them for their services.

Madel brings my youngest daughter to school and watches over her everyday.  She is also my cook and baker. She's the one who goes to grocery and market.

We went to GALA by BULLET TRAIN from tokyo. Tokyo station to GALA Yuzawa station was very convenient and stress-free. Thanks to my cousin Ellen and hubby Teddy Nishiumi, they accompanied us going to Gala. From Tokyo station,we rode Joetsu Shinkansen [Platforms 20-23] and take the train named Max-Tanigawa or Tanigawa.

japan GALA Yuzawa is in the town of Echigo Yuzawa in Niigata Prefecture. Located about 200kms to the north of Tokyo, the area is famous for its impressive snowfall, and with skiing from 1,181m down to 358m, GALA Yuzawa resort is the perfect place to enjoy the excellent snow conditions.  When we went here the weather is only 14C.

holy week retreat 2012

i am attending a silent retreat at the Transfiguration monastery at malaybalay bukidnon philippines run by the benedictines.

i feel i am home for a i am a true blood bedan since my prep days in 1974.

holy week is the holiest time of the christian year. this week long commemoration at transfiguration monastery is a special time of prayer and reflection. guided reflections are
provided to assist us in our preparations for the great mystery of Easter.

As a retreatant we have the opportunity to experience and participate in the soln and festive celebration of the Holy week liturgy led by the monastic community.

we were encouraged to be silent to facilitate prayer and reflection during this sacred time. the intervals between meals, conferences and common prayers are times for private prayer and reflection.

i am attending this kind of retreat to experience the space and peace of the benedictine's monastic home. for once in my life i like to experience quiet time .

Never be afraid

scripture and a snapshot

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

Never be afraid to trust an unknown FUTURE to a known GOD.
